An evening with the Meiers

Happy Mother’s Day to all those good Moms that we know! Have a wonderful day.

We had a really blessed time with Luther and Sandy Meier last evening at Pardue’s home. We began by standing and lifting our hands in praise and supplication to the Lord for several minutes. A prophetic word came that the Lord was Alpha and Omega, not only in the cosmic sense, but also to each of us personally. He will be Author and Finisher of our faith, and indeed our entire journey. There were a couple of other ministries by the Spirit, and then we received communion together. We followed that by singing some songs of praise and thanksgiving for our great salvation.

Sandy Meier shared first, giving some of the history of their calling and how they came to Fayetteville 40 years ago. It was a blessing to see how the Lord prepared them uniquely for His assignment, which has carried them to over 35 nations. Luther came then and shared a wonderful, edifying ministry about the need to develop intimacy with God, for that is His ultimate desire for us all. Luther built on the scripture from Exodus 15; “The Lord is my song and my salvation,” often echoed by David in the Psalms. His challenge was to go beyond knowing about God; “It begins with your mouth and your ears. Put your Bible down and talk with God and He will talk with you. He speaks plain Arkansas English, and you can develop a deep, rich relationship with the Living God.” Luther connected with everyone’s heart to know the Lord and emphasized the simple, fundamental need to spend time with the One we love. Our need to live in the present, aware of God and attuned to God, is our highest calling. He also, through sharing some challenges to his faith, encouraged everyone to wake up every day and choose to live that day based on what we believe, not how we feel. His words spoke to us all, and reminded us of things easily lost in the pressures of life.

We had the privilege to pray for Luther and Sandy, and minister to them some encouragements by the Spirit. Several people had prayers and prophetic words for them. We will continue to pray that the Lord fulfills those words and answers those prayers in His good way and time. A few other folks received prayer as well before we dismissed for a time of refreshment and fellowship. Berna’s pulled pork tacos and berry pie were just what the doctor ordered! We praise God for another opportunity to touch the Lord together and be strengthened by His word and His servants, the Meiers. We invite everyone to join us on the 23rd, again at Pardue’s home! Meantime, be blessed and encouraged in every way!
